I'm Daniel, and I started Cambridge Ceramics from my home in the North East of England with a simple belief: that the objects we surround ourselves with matter. A beautiful ceramic on a shelf, a piece of art on the wall, an instrument in the corner of a room, these things don't just fill a space. They change how a space feels, and in turn, how we feel within it.
Ceramics, in particular, have always struck me as carrying something that mass-produced objects rarely do, a quiet sense of intention. Each piece in our collection is chosen because it brings that quality to a home.
Cambridge Ceramics began on Etsy, where we spent years building something we were genuinely proud of. Over 470 orders fulfilled, countless five-star reviews, and a community of customers who came back not just for the pieces, but for the care that came with them.
It was a valuable foundation. But as the business grew, so did our frustration with the platform, the fees, the limitations, and the lack of control over how we presented ourselves and served our customers. We wanted something that was truly ours.
Every piece in our collection is handpicked. We look for ceramics that carry a sense of craft, pieces that feel considered rather than convenient, and that bring something genuine to the rooms they inhabit.
